When you use OctoDM, we collect the following information:
- Your Instagram account information (username, user ID) when you connect your account
- Access tokens provided by Instagram to operate on your behalf
- Information about users who interact with your Instagram comments (their Instagram ID, username)
- Names and email addresses voluntarily provided by users through DM conversations
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Send automated DMs on your behalf when users comment on your posts
- Collect lead information (name, email) from users who opt in
- Add subscribers to your connected email marketing platform (Kit/ConvertKit)
- Improve and maintain our service
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, with encryption at rest and in transit. Instagram access tokens are stored securely and only used to perform actions you've authorized. We do not sell or share your data with third parties except as necessary to provide our service.
4. Third-Party Services
OctoDM integrates with Instagram (Meta) and Kit (ConvertKit). Your use of these services is also subject to their respective privacy policies.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Disconnect your Instagram account at any time
- Revoke access through Instagram's settings
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or disconnect Instagram, we will delete your data within 30 days.
